Adel Sansur I Monument Sotheby’s International Realty I Art Gallery Event

Adel Sansur was born in Jerusalem in 1945. His affinity for art was readily apparent as a child. His works include impressionistic landscapes along with expressionistic and abstract subjects. Sansur worked with prominent artists over the east coast but still considers himself self-taught. His brushstrokes are deliberate, thick, and border impasto creating relief and depth. All his canvases have a starting wash of burnt sienna, and from there, the layering begins.

Sansur studied medicine and emigrated to the United States in the early 1970s. His medical career spanned two and a half decades. However, throughout this time, he incessantly would draw anything of interest to capture the moment’s beauty. Adel Sansur’s love for art eventually won over his medical career in 1998.

He has since been devoted to painting and running his studio in Reisterstown, Maryland.
